Pleasant fishing village of Havøysund

Perfect wind to sail from Ingøy to the better protected village of Havøysund.

Northernmost windpark (they say so).

Narrow entrance with some shallows, leading under a bridge. There are currents of up to four knots... Almost lost our drone, because had to crash land it due to the strong wind.

Lovely afternoon for a stroll over the island.

We feel in good hands among all the fishing boats.

Big rescue boat. They use it also for the transport of patients, when the roads are closed and helicopters cannot fly (happens often in winter).

West of the bridge, there are winds more than 40kn, but we feel almost nothing in here.

Due to the strong currents and all the fresh water, there are thousends of fishes in the harbour.

After only three minutes...

An ex-hurrican arrived and we had to wait more than a week.

Afternoon walk around the village.

They salt and dry a lot...

...of cod here.

The seagulls became our weather and tide data...

...when they swam this way, the tide was running from east...

...when they stand this way, the wind was blowing from the west...

Due to the strong currents, there is a lot of food...

...and thousands...

...of seagulls. Sometimes it's a real mess on the pontoon :-(

One sunny day between two storms. Going for a hike on the 400m high "Nato" mountain (called by the locals).

The Sami already started to gather the reindeers for the winter, when they move far inland.

View to the west, where we like to head, when the wind is better.

Although it is windy, the temperatures are pleasantly high.

Around Havøysund we found again many kilograms of berries (cloudberries, blueberries, lingonberries).

With the new rain, a lot of mushrooms are growing.

A young fox sleeping - there is more than enough food for him with all the birds.

Many of birch bolete - a very famous and hard to find mushroom in Switzerland. Here they grow by hundreds around the village :-)

After only half an hour the backpack is over full - time to head back and dry them.
